Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to wear to my consultation with the Sports Doctor
To allow a thorough assessment and maintain modesty, you should wear comfortable clothing, or a change of clothing, that will allow our practitioners to view and assess your injured body regions. This is especially important for injuries of the hip, knee, back and shoulder. For compartment pressure testing, you will need to bring clothing and footwear that is suitable for exercise.

How Long do I need to allow for my initial consultation?
Initial consultations are between 30 - 60 minutes in duration. Review consultations can take 15-30 minutes, but these are at
the discretion of the Sport and Exercise Physician. |
Can I claim a rebate from Medicare?
The Doctors are able to consult with you without a GP's referral letter, however, a referral from a medical practitioner ensures that you are able to claim a higher Medicare rebate for each of your consultations with a specialist Sports Physician.
You are able to make an appointment with a referral from an allied health professional such as a physiotherapist or podiatrist, or without a referral, however you will receive a lower Medicare rebate for these consults. You require a new referral for each new issue, or every 12 months from a GP, or 3 months from another Specialist. |
